Arrival of White Ivy

Little White Ivy arrived to us Friday Dec 23. She was born during the darkness of night in a clean white snowy pasture during a brutal wind storm and down pouring rain. We noticed her at the break of day and quickly moved her into the barn to get her dry and warm. Within 12 hours of birth the temperature would drop to 30 degrees then 20 and then 10. An extremely rough introduction to the world but we got her bedded down in a pile of hay and rubbed down to dry and fluff her fur. She just wanted to sleep. There’s no way of knowing how long she lay in the rain and wind so her wanting to rest seemed fair. We let her sleep. We didn’t catch her nursing but checking in every hour or two it was apparent she was getting up. I didn’t have the heart to wake and stand her up. I knew it was going to be a long cold night so we let alone so she could rest. The next morning it was 8 degrees and Miss Ivy greeted us hopping around her stall. Welcome home Miss Ivy.
